Could it be any clearer, Manafort’s folks are appealing for a pardon?
Manafort’s lawyer came out and just said “no collusion” which is wild because the Judge specifically said no collusion had nothing to do with that case and that Mueller is still looking into collusion.— Katy Tur (@KatyTurNBC) March 13, 2019

Wow -- Manafort's attorney, Kevin Downing, is shouted down outside the courthouse after he falsely claims "2 courts have ruled no evidence of any collusion with any Russians."

Jackson says the "the no collusion refrain" that runs through defense documents has no relevance here. "The 'no collusion' mantra is simply a non-sequitur." Not particularly persuasive to say an investigation hasn't found anything when you've lied to investigators, she says.
So Trump will say ‘The judge said ‘NO COLLUSION’!” https://t.co/zcmANn2Mhm— George Conway (@gtconway3d) March 13, 2019
This. It was Judge Ellis who failed the public, not ABJ. ABJ’s thoughtful and measured sentencing means @paulManafort gets 7.5 years BEFORE Manafort is charged on the substance of Trump Russia. Berman Jackson correctly noted collusion was “not resolved’.

Manafort laundered $11M to promote the FARA violations, Weissmann says. "When investigators were on to Manafort, he lied repeatedly to DOJ. He then tampered with 2 witnesses to avoid getting caught."

Jackson said she appreciated Manafort's comments today, but found it "striking" he chose not to write something to her in advance of sentencing, which she said many defendants have done, incl. those who haven't finished high school or who don't speak English as a first langauge
